Fun in the sun for the super 5

Fun in the sun for the super 5

david Walcott

In the culmination of the under 11s midweek league our 5 represented the Lions in the annual super 8s competition at Fairlop managed by Malik Awan.

We played 3 games today, we only had 5 players but the other teams (Frentford and Ilford) kindly lent us a couple of their players.
Our first game was against Frentford B. We batted first, Frentford B fielded well but we still managed a respectable 54 for them to chase. We bowled and fielded well which ended in a tight game but in the end, we lost to Frentford B, who won with only 3 balls remaining.
Our next game was against Loughton, who batted first scoring 84 runs. Again, another nail biter ending with the last person (Hira) standing and with us needing 2 off the last 2 balls, which she did with one to spare.
Ilford was the last team we played, they won the toss and elected to bat first and managed to score 87. With everyone batting well and contributing to the score, we won and this time more comfortable with a few overs in hand.
Everyone had fun, worked hard and was on their top performance today. The day ended with a presentation in which Hira received an award
